Coffee with the Author B. J. Morgan

Join us for our Coffee with the Author Lunch and book signing with B. J. Morgan. With inspiration from her niece, Margery McWhorter, "Rain on the Roof" emerged as a collection of poignant yet candid memories of the Barclay Farm , her siblings, and the homes in which she lived. As the 1929 "Great Depression" was current, B.J. Morgan became the tenth child born into the John C. Ewart family. Now the table is set for twelve. At 10 years of B. J. should not have been thinking of where she would be tomorrow, as the depression, World War II, and her father''s death stacked against her, moving her life into a fast-changing wold was too much, casuing her to be foster out at age 10, (in the fifth grade) and until she graduated from high school.
The ''Ewart Family" by uncontrolled circumstances became disabled, broken apart, making it in the eyes of the world, no longer a family unit. The place settings were no longer needed, and the table sets empty with o life around it, no offered prayers, and the sound of laughter was now hushed by the absence of people. She now has no home and the table sets empty in a house they made home, on a road with no name. Henceforthe, her fostering journey began as the story unfolds, "Under God''s Umbrella."
Join us as B.J. tells us about her life and how she came to write this book. She will explain "BOWING" UNDER ONE''S YOKE.
